@pluralistic Are those instructions on how to use in the placard over the phone? Because nobody under 30 understands WTF to do with this artifact, nestled into an archway that formerly (probably) held a Virgin Mary statue?

@pluralistic why do you call that phone „decaing“? It seems to be in good working condition to me - in contrast to the column to which it is mounted.

Which is surprising to me as telefoninos (=cell fones) are as common in Italy as they are in the US. I wonder how much those coin or card operated ones might be in use.
