For all those on Threads that talk negatively of the Fediverse integration, those ones that are oblivious and then react very positively, make everything worth it.
@BeAware what kind of negativity are you seeing and is there much of it? I've seen a weird comment by someone acting like threads is some exclusive club, disinterest because of the limited interaction (for now) and (legitimate) concerns about the inability to limit who can reply but being only on this side of the fediverse my exposure has obviously been limited since I only see posts from those who have actually enabled it.
@BeAware they just want to be the next “it” person with all the followers and likes. That is not what the #fediverse is all about. It's about finding your community no matter how small and being happy
@TengoHipo Well, there's room for both. And I am living breathing proof because I do feel like I have my own community, I do engage with the lot of you that engage with me, yet look at my followers...I'm not exactly tiny compared to others here. That's my selling point to them and for some, it seems to be working, cause it's true.
@TengoHipo I feel like you have to search for it for the algorithm to feed it to you...I've been exclusively browsing Fediverse stuff and I get that with a mix of "new user, what dis?" And see pretty much no toxicity🤷♂️plenty of trans folk there as well.
@TengoHipo And this is why context is important. I'm actually talking about threads....my experience there has been counter to what people say it would be....😅
@TengoHipo lol. for sure. I'm only there to advocate for folks to turn on Fediverse sharing. Mostly i've gotten some "doesn't seem useful to me" and some "what the heck is a fediverse and why would I want the feds in my social media", but there's been a few that have responded very positively and see it as good as we do.
