My almost eighty year old friend is recovering from a botched eye surgery. It is a pretty devastating development for a person who lives alone. I listened to her worries on the phone yesterday and promised to drop a treat off to her today. She is headed to a specialist in San Francisco soon, and I hope they can help her. At least it is only one eye.
She loves cookies and ice cream, so I baked peanut butter with peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies this morning to deliver in a fancy paper plate carrier. I picked up a pint of locally made salted caramel ice cream from Jersey Scoops, too. These four cookies are close enough in size and shape she can use them to make ice cream sandwiches.
