26 January 1942 | The number of prisoners at the Auschwitz camp during the evening roll-call was 11,432 men.

On that day 41 prisoners perished in the camp: 20 Poles, 10 Soviet POWs, 5 Germans, 3 reeducation prisoners, 2 Jews, and 1 Czech.

@auschwitzmuseum Hallo, are those the categories that were used?

they don t seem to fit, maybe in their logic?

Do i understand correctly that among the 5 killed germans there was no Jew and no reeducation prisoner?

@drifthood We do not know the nationality of the 3 reeducation prisoners. It was quite a separate group of prisoners (mainly Poles): https://www.auschwitz.org/en/press/mini-dictionary/#Reeducation%20prisoners,%20category

Yet, among the 5 killed Germans were no Jews, as Jews were marked as a separate category in this division.
