@luckytran The data since the spring of 2021 is fairly clear. The only break we get (if we can call it that) is April to September. Then we ride up the hill again until January. And it is like this year after year.
@luckytran A reminder that state-level data is not as helpful as city-level data: San Francsico (and lots of Northern California) seems to be spiking in a meaningful way per our latest wastewater data. (https://soe-wbe-pilot.wl.r.appspot.com/charts )
@luckytran Whatever. I'm just getting back to feeling "normal" from my March 19 infection and my partner is still dealing with issues from what I brought home. It's out there. Be vigilant in whatever your activities may be.
An important caveat with CDC's current wastewater level rankings is that compared with spring and summer of the first two years of the pandemic, there's still a notable amount of COVID spread in lulls thanks to more transmissible variants.
Compared with the winter peak, COVID exposure risk in spring in the US has decreased around 4-5 fold, but can still be significant in crowds, so it's important to still take precautions like masking.
