Part of the reason I keep ants is this barren no bug having city has me bug starved. It's just sad to go for a walk on a warm day and not see very many bugs in the park

@futurebird Wow. Does it use lots of bug chemicals? I live in a big city and lots of bugs in parks. Sadly, too many, since fire ants have moved in, maybe many parks now inhospitable.

@futurebird This sounds like the originating complaint of a supervillain.

First it’s “I keep ants because there are so few bugs because of humans.”

Then it’s “I will breed ants resistant to human meddling and release them.”

And eventually “WITH MY ARMY OF SUPER-ANTS I SHALL REPLACE ALL HUMANITY! ALL BIPEDS SHALL TREMBLE BEFORE MY BROOD, AND FEAR MY NAME… MISS ANT-TROPY!”

Also no need to breed ants. I just read to them. A colony is a hungry mind and they are fastidious about homework. Especially things like calculus and physics. 😉

We have received the last necessary piece of calculus to complete our work. The recent discovery that the Outworld has its own Outworld has led us to identify several sites suitable for exploration and potential colonization. The only remaining question is whether to bring the Food Provider. She would potentially be useful but would greatly increase tunnel and transportation requirements.

@futurebird I hear you. We have lizards everywhere, so you don't see too many where I live. However, come summer time, I'll have wee 'sugar' ants all up in my apartment. Is that the same as keeping them? ;>)
