    @dillyd for example, if you have an allowlist mastodon instance, you cant further limit the instances you allow

    on akkoma, you can have an allowlist instance, but still force mark media from some of those instances as sensitive or remove the posts from public timelines

    @dillyd also, if you install the mastodon frontend on your akkoma instance, you can sort of use it like mastodon. it’s buggy tho

    @dillyd @alizasystem I’ll add as a regular user, the web app is cleaner. Also, like that you have a couple additional timelines. An instance only timeline and a timeline called bubble that is a bunch of instances your admin chooses to add. I am an admin on our instance, but I rarely do anything.

    @dillyd @alizasystem Yeah. I use the Moana app which plays nice with Mastodon and Akkoma with only some small hiccups.

    reactions are cuter, far more varied and they let you be far more creative than simple favs, and a lot of us are all about just goofing around

    themes? I know a few girls that joined specific servers because of their color theme :02shrug:

    the reactions and emojis are FAR BIGGER

    I used to have a very pink theme for my calckey account last year
