@jeremy_pm switch to mastodon.social — it is the main server run by the developers themselves, and it has reasonable moderation. You can bring all your followers along.
Thanks for the tip Randahl, I may well change servers but right now I'm quite concerned to know what's happening on this server representing a large number NZers.
@jeremy_pm the server has an extensive list of fuzzy rules — right down to him wanting to control which hashtags you use on your posts. This could indicate, the admin is someone who gets a kick out of playing police.
@randahl@jeremy_pm I'm staying here. This place seems to have become the default landing place for Kiwis escaping Xitter* to dip their toes into and to either stay here and find somewhere more narrowly focussed. This isn't a massive operation - I understand it's a server in someone's garage or shared working space and everyone's a volunteer. My guess is: someone just fucked up and something needs to get un-fucked-up.
