    @philip_cardella I think changing how people think about "bad apples" has bad implications on our society. I'm glad people didn't take that idiom/metaphor/analogy in the way that you propose

    @philip_cardella I wouldn't call it misuse. It's just that language is a fluid self governing system that changes; is this particular change for the better or for the worse is indeed up for debate. I mostly see this change as a triumph of what's good in people: over justification of prejudice towards a group of people based on how its member behaves, and in spite of the origins of the idiom. Your example makes me think and reflect, so thank you! I'll have to sit with it for a while

    I also find it annoying like the Mandela effect. It's double speak, a subtle gas lighting tactic.
