And this is where I think the discourse around #threads seems to get a bit over the top at times.
Meta aren't going to be able to take control of, or destroy, mastodon or the #fediverse just because a few instances choose not to block threads. And if some instances don't block threads then it increases the likelihood that threads users will migrate to mastodon in the long run.
But those instances that do block threads can keep the majority of the fediverse clean from threads at the same time.
