Well, I’ve seen both #Dune movies now. My reactions to both were the same: I don’t think they’re great films but I think they are good, competent adaptations of the novel and good Dune fan experiences, if you like the world of Dune. But they are a bit like Nolan films in that they seem sternly and rigidly on-track. Not a whiff of spontaneity, no real spark of life. Locked-down, airless filmmaking. Not my cup of tea.
