America is full of towns that will pay tech workers thousands of dollars to move there, the only caveat being that they are among the most boring places on earth

Many of them are in Indiana, which as an Ohio boy I will just say would be like voluntarily moving to the dark side of the moon

@afterconnery Ohio is a special place! That's why it has produced so many astronauts, it takes a special place to make its residents want to flee to low orbit

@jalefkowit lol. I am also from Ohio, but currently live in one of those "destinations" in Indiana. Which is why all of this is funny to me.

@afterconnery Which one? How do you like it?

(I am currently in the market for a new place of residence)

@jalefkowit Richmond. I do like living here. Grew up not to far from here across the border. The city is working hard at sprucing up its local amenities/attractions. Its also not far from Indy (hour), Dayton, OH (45min), Cincinnati (hour) if there are bigger city things you want to do.

@afterconnery That's cool! I lived for a while in Oxford, not too far from Richmond. I really liked that town. Unfortunately houses there now go for a half mil apiece 🙃

I'm sorry for butting in, but I will be around Oxford for the solar eclipse, would you care to recommend a public place that's in nature? Hoping to experience the eclipse outside of town or city.

@CelloMomOnCars @jalefkowit there is Hueston Woods state park just north of Oxford. Also, Whitewater State Park just south of Liberty, IN about 20-ish minutes NW of Oxford.

Awesome, thank you so much!
Looks like Hueston Woods can be reached on foot from Oxford. In case there is a traffic jam.

Might go to Whitewater for fossil hunting, too.
