The sound of Spring Peeper frogs’ mating calls that I heard on my bike ride tonight.

What I love about this is that this vernal pool is a kettle lake created at the end of the last ice age and you know the frogs doing this tonight are descended from thousands of generations of these frogs who have done this same ritual in the same spot every year since the ice melted.
