Financial "commentators" on Fox news have taken to calling higher salaries and increased wages "wage inflation"

"wage inflation"

You have got to be kidding me, come on who is going to fall for this? (more people than we'd think, I'd expect)

higher wages > "wage inflation"
price gouging > "profit maximization"
price fixing > "price cooperation"
pay cuts > "wage savings"
job growth > "employee scarcity"

The children/grandchildren of whoever though that fantasy called Reaganomics was fine

This kind of rhetoric works! "if good for billionaires, is good for you because one of this days, if you work hard enough, you will be a billionare & your success will depend on that"

Thank you for putting "commentators" in quotation marks! If ever a word did not deserve to be a word! How the hell does commentator improve on commenter? Or idiot-with-a-degree-in-communications-who-is-glib-in-front-of-a-camera?
(Yes, I HAVE looked it up, and I AM aware that it has been used since the 14th Century. So what? Lots of stupid things happened in the 14th Century.)

Maybe you misheard Fox's lead in?

"Here with the latest on wage inflation is a common tater."

@futurebird No shortage of euphemisms to water down the real problems being presented to their viewers.

The propaganda is strong.

Except their own salaries and bonuses, which are "meritocratic performance-based incentives".

@futurebird I've heard min wage workers rail against wage inflation.

Very, very upset and angry.

They feel it endangers their employment.

When I ask them why they feel this, they splutter and return to railing against wage inflation, or perhaps some other talking point.

They don't know. They're just scared.
