I was generally fortunate growing up not being bullied when bullying was mostly ignored by teachers under the "life is rough and this will prepare them".
Which was good because my dad was definitely in the "punch the pack leader/biggest one as hard as you can camp because bullies are really cowards" camp.
As a parent, I've been very pleased that all forms of bullying are completely NOT TOLERATED in public schools here in (pretty) conservative Texas north of Dallas!
