@slyflourish Same! A lot of people I used to follow on Twitter have hopped to Bluesky but I just prefer Mastodon so I too am looking forward to the three of them connecting nicely.
@slyflourish And therein is the fine difference of open and federated. Bluesky was created to try to recreate the Twitter ecosystem/phenomena but in this new landscape. Threads is Facebook's attempt to co-opt the federation movement. Both of these will eventually pivot to traditional practices, as we've seen similar platforms do in the past, through a combination of late-state tightening of interoperability, API changes/charges or outright acquisition.
@slyflourish there’s a federation bridge under construction called “Bridgey Fed”, which merges Activity Pub and Bluesky. It’s not a merged client, but it means the feeds will start to aggregate on their own once it goes live
@slyflourish Not quite yet but Icon Factory is working on it. They have a project called Tapestry that’ll do that and a bit more (I recall it including RSS as well, at the least).
