I look forward to the day when I can aggregate Mastodon, Bluesky, and Threads into one client. Anyone know of a way to do this yet?

@slyflourish You may be interested in Tapestry, an app to browse all of your social media in one place: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/iconfactory/project-tapestry

My concern is whether it won’t be useful because you can’t reply / interact from that app.

@slyflourish Same! A lot of people I used to follow on Twitter have hopped to Bluesky but I just prefer Mastodon so I too am looking forward to the three of them connecting nicely.

@slyflourish And therein is the fine difference of open and federated. Bluesky was created to try to recreate the Twitter ecosystem/phenomena but in this new landscape. Threads is Facebook's attempt to co-opt the federation movement. Both of these will eventually pivot to traditional practices, as we've seen similar platforms do in the past, through a combination of late-state tightening of interoperability, API changes/charges or outright acquisition.

@slyflourish there’s a federation bridge under construction called “Bridgey Fed”, which merges Activity Pub and Bluesky. It’s not a merged client, but it means the feeds will start to aggregate on their own once it goes live

@slyflourish Not quite yet but Icon Factory is working on it. They have a project called Tapestry that’ll do that and a bit more (I recall it including RSS as well, at the least).

@slyflourish RSS? Not sure if Bluesky will do it, but Threads should (if it’s following ActivityPub standard).
