From the Guardian...

“Are young people poised to slam the brake on endless economic growth?”

The terms degrowth and post-growth are used increasingly to popularise the idea that in the 21st century, capitalism is no longer the best allocator of scarce resources.

Proponents of post-growth policies say they are not a recipe for inaction, or a return to a horse-and-cart, pre-industrial age; rather they are a means of redirecting resources into investments that result in people living happier, more sustainable lives.

The guardian "The terms degrowth and post-growth are used increasingly to popularise the idea that in the 21st century, capitalism is no longer the best allocator of scarce resources."

There is an implicit assumption here that it was 'the best' allocator, this is a completely unverifiable claim.

No... They aren't, they are as appallingly bad as thier parents in terms of ecological damage. They expend resources differently though. An example?, 10s of thousands of them in Australia flying to a carbon shitfest concert.

It's why emissions keep growing, energy use keeps growing etc that doesn't meant here aren't exlempery examples eg Greta T but thats been the case forever eg Racheal Carson
