I love the deep purple colours on this osteospermum, and the way the petals become darker the closer you look to the centre.

Closeup of a purple and white flower. The simple outer petals are white. There's a second row of petals inside this which are more tubular in shape, and show white inside the tube but a graduating white to purple exterior. Then there are several rows of unopened petals, darker purple again and more tightly packed to the centre. In the very middle of the flower all we can see are the 5-pointed-star shapes of the most intense purple - almost black - which are the tips of the most inner petals
