I recall his Dodgers playing days...this baseball star had the reputation of being very far from humility. He was also a vocal Reagan fanboy.
@Harrybear@GottaLaff@bkahn Lots of extramarital affairs. Domestic violence. Lots of kids that he refuses to speak to. Financial issues. The GOP needed a "name" or "celebrity" to run against the Democrats. Just like they did in Georgia with Herschel Walker and Pennsylvania with Dr. Oz. And here in NM with a TV weatherman. They all lost. He will lose too.

Those other character flaws you mention didn't get much press ink here on the East Coast in such pre-internet days, Ivey. (at least not from the sportswriters...those were the days before widespread expose reporting in the MSM)
@Harrybear@GottaLaff@bkahn It was big news in Los Angeles. And in San Diego after Garvey went to the Padres. His extramarital affairs made him a punchline for Johnny Carson and David Letterman.
@Harrybear@GottaLaff@bkahn I worked nights, and got home just in time for the monologues. Johnny,Arsenio and Dave ripped Garvey to shreds, when they weren't riffing on Jimmy Swaggart.
@jztusk@Wileymiller@IveyJanette Per their voting records( I just did a search), he's not as progressive as Porter. Was a Blue Dog some time ago. I like him, but I prefer Porter.

Unusual and unfortunate to have two great candidates. I haven’t been following the campaign but Schiff still has my utmost respect for his performance during trump’s impeachment. Few politicians are that articulate.
@Dotards@Wileymiller@IveyJanette Agree, he was great. But a candidate must have more than one accomplishment to fall back on. I look at his whole record.
