So....Mastodon team, are we gonna get better moderation tools yet? The ability to completely block specific words from ever reaching our instance would have stopped this spam wave long enough to control it in WAY less time than it has taken....
just a growing pain tbh. Within an hour of me seeing this last night I checked the mastodon discord and people already proposing solutions to the matter

Im mostly surprised it took this long lol but change will come. It just takes forever
The problem is mastodon isnt a company. This is the weakest part
The politics.
There's so many awesome features we are missing that other platforms have (like quote posting, reaction emoji and more)
But the politics over on the github has kept these features away for a LONG time lol
But if there's one thing I have continued to see in this world, especially in law and order is that change often only comes after theres victims already
Ah I made an ignorant comment then, but the decision making process is still riddled with politics though especially seen in the aforementioned features I mentioned
@BeAware Another thing I would like is "forced two-factor" so when people register for the service, 'open-door' admins can still slow bot-spam with forcing two-factor registration to post.
@BeAware I’d have thought the keyword thing would be there as like an auto block post, x attempts temp ban or something. Didn’t forums used to do that? (It’s been awhile)
