It seems to be disconnect between groups with two differing views of our situation.
“group 1” is confident that the institutions of government (including the vote) are capable of -or necessary for- surviving another Trump presidency.
“group 2” believes that time is running out, and that once Trump or someone similar takes power, there will be a human rights crisis on an unprecedented scale.
group 2 sees group 1 as “fiddling while Rome burns.”
group 1 sees group 2 as “chicken little yelling that the ‘sky is falling.’”
A dialogue between these groups would be interesting, but the potshots and snark typical of social media conversation “ain’t it.”
