two days ago: i like this band. i like their poetry.

now: fuck, this is exactly how i feel about this entire aspect of my life.

excerpt from a Moscow Times article: This pessimistic outlook resurfaces as the conversation ends and Gaisina is asked what kind of Russia she would want to come back to. “I don’t believe that I will come back. I don’t believe that the change I need will happen in the next century. I have no illusions about that,” says Gaisina. Her fatalistic approach is echoed by Baramia, who appears to balk at the question. “Oh, I don’t want to come back to any kind of Russia at all!”

    this is a decision i made over a decade ago — first when i renounced my citizenship, then more so when i got a tattoo that might land me in jail in modern russia (if the cop/prosecutor are having a bad day, certainly) — but it still kinda moves something in me to see it articulated like this
