I've seen people wrongly blame Ohio's notorious gerrymandering for JD Vance being elected as the US Senator from Ohio and being elevated to such a status that allowed him to achieve an even wider audience and voice which contributed to his VP pick.

In this instance, gerrymandering is not the reason why JD Vance was elected. It was a state-wide race just like the next Senate race in November will be.

Ohio here. I kind of like JD Vance being the VP pick. He really will bring out the vote only not for Trump.

If we had a better candidate, one who didn't run ads praising Donald Trump, in the Ohio 2022 Senate race, maybe Vance wouldn't have been elevated to a platform that gave him a louder voice.

I know it was hard voting for Tim Ryan but he was on the ticket as the Dem against Vance in 2022 and I did.

Vance isn't well liked in Ohio by either side, regardless of what the polls and media says.
