I agree with what someone said on here yesterday. The Democrats should resurrect the assault rifle ban and rename it “The Trump assassination prevention act” and watch the Republicans vote against it.

The assassination attempt does put Republicans in a difficult position. Assault weapons, open carry, and zero gun restrictions, after all, are what they run on.

Ps. Just a handful of urban area's voters decide who will be president. They're unarmed. Meanwhile the mass of Americans in rural areas own firearms and ARE feeling a little miffed about having no decision making power.

Well the precedent is set. Biden can and should immediately call for a moritorium on semiautomatic weapons, large clips and bump sticks. Raise the age of gun purchases to 25. Enact and enforce gun show loophole closures.

We don’t have magic wands to pass legislation. We need the White House and more seats in Congress to pass gun laws. We have a chance to get more seats later this year.
