Julien was a founding member of the Red Warriors, an antifascist group that terrorised the French far right throughout the 1980s. Later he was the drummer of anarchist oi! band Brigada Flores Magon, was a union organiser in the French CNT and ran le-Saint Sauveur, an antifascist bar in Paris.
