you can wear a mask sometimes, if you want

you can keep one on you and put it on when you're like, "oh fuck, the next 20 minutes is gonna be 90% of my viral exposure for the week"

certainly you can wear one when you're sick, or exposed to other people who are sick, or people who get sick easily

there is no reason to act like you've learned nothing whatsoever from the pandemic, even if your own life is pretty "normal" now

certainly one thing you've learned is that you can't trust the government, the media, randos on the street, or even hospitals to do right by you

and that masks are easy

@saddestrobots It's all harm reduction at this point. I can't eliminate exposure, just limit it as best I can.

@foolishowl
my workplace has decent ventilation and a strong "just don't come in if you're sick" rule, so just wearing a mask for 1 minute on the elevator or 20 minutes while shopping reduces my overall exposure quite a lot

i realize i'm lucky in that respect (with my work environment, my housing, and having a car), but also it would be bad judgement not to lean into that by wearing the damn mask

doubly so because my wife is immunosuppressed, of course
