it's ironic that people seem to forget that by leaving walled gardens, you are no longer protected by a central entity

the fediverse is a wild wild west, don't have expectations for what you publicly publish unless you can enforce that at the software/protocol level

#fediverse #duality

@dansup Thankfully we can't stop facebook coming to the Fediverse, however much I despise them. It's an odd sort of comfort.

@dansup the best and worst part of the Fediverse is how much control individual users have.

Control == responsibility.

@dansup It doesn't have to be a "wild west", no? That's solely on how we develop the space to be.

@jalcine exactly, fedi devs need to work more closely together and listen to feedback.

I think a town hall approach of community engagement where anyone could queue to ask one or many project devs questions or give feedback, could be useful to more easily make progress using a method like this.

Would you be interested in helping organize something like this?

@dansup I can see the appeal for a quorum like that but this could be asynchronously achieved with a forum thread IMO.

That and people have had open conversations about this topic for some time now so it could start with developers focusing on that organic feedback and either incorporating it into their roadmaps, writing blog posts expanding on their approaches to it so people can have guided conversations and the like. We can use the tools we have.
