At least 10 states in the U.S. have closed beaches or issued swimming warnings due to high bacteria levels. Some of the affected beaches are experiencing cyanobacteria, also known as blue-green algae, while others are related to bacteria from fecal waste. Cyanobacteria can cause lifelong health problems and is becoming a more frequent problem due to the effects of climate change, experts say. Read more from NBC News.
