Artless Entanglements were the Fugs of 1980s punk rock.
Silly, fun, over the top and intense.
What, you've never heard of them?
Who were they?
They were none other than Spot (AKA Glenn Michael Lockett) who played guitar, bass synth, drums, and sang, with a few friends filling in, as needed, on other instruments.
Spot was most well-known as the producer and engineer at SST records, where he produced of the best records by Black Flag, Descendents, Minutemen, Meat Puppets, Husker Du, Big Boys, Saccharine Trust.
He died in 2023 while recovering from a stroke.
