Why the hell did Microsoft take away the most useful feature of the toolbar?

I use the “hide my hundred open windows and show me the desktop” all the time. Is there some option I missed to turn in back on? That little corner thing was absolutely more useful than all the stupid little widgets they try to shove on there.

@deinol Should be able to move your mouse to the bottom right corner of the screen and click still. Also pressing the Windows Key + D will show the desktop.

@deinol I use that too! This setting will enable the bottom right corner again.

@deinol Try Window+D. It acts as a toggle. :bd291:

@deinol sorry if this is not comparable, I’m still back on W10. Has pressing Windows-M been removed from W11?

@WhombeX

Windows M still works. I just have to remember it. I was just so used to using the corner trick I never needed it before.

@deinol They're absolute buttheads about not letting you change settings like that, like not letting you completely get rid of Copilot from the Edge expanded toolbar. There are plentiful examples and I hate them for it.

@deinol I was unironically VERY glad upon switching back over to linux that KDE just has a whole button for it in the corner of the taskbar. It's such a quietly useful feature

@zozo @croyle

Yup. Unfortunately I am stuck with windows for my day job. Which is of course where I have the most programs running.

@deinol @zozo My job is also Windows-based, sadly. Although I saw something recently from IT about people having MBPs which would be awesome. I'm going to ask about that when my laptop is up for replacement. It would be very awesome to avoid Win11 and once again be free of having to use Windows on a daily basis.
