"Three in four (76%) European travelers are adapting their behaviour to the #climate crisis, according to a new survey by the European Travel Commission (ETC) shared exclusively with the Guardian.
In a sign that extreme weather is weighing on the minds of travellers and industry professionals."
It's only a matter of time before the Akropolis is seasonally off limits for periods of the day as it becomes a heat danger zone. Other tourist destinations will be changed forever, here are some vacation spots in the United Stats.
We're seeing the emergence of a new category of articles: "you must see these places before they are changed forever by the carbon you emit traveling to them."
Yeah, same here.
I'm switching to more local trips. Would be nice if the US had better train connections. But also if you travel by car with a few friends, that makes for lower travel emissions per person. (Also hunting for fossils is a pretty low-emissions activity).
@CelloMomOnCars Right now I'm not going anywhere & just reliving all the trips I've made in the past. The roads are crazy, the trains expensive & unreliable and ferries off my island unaffordable! There's lots of fossil hunting here https://ukfossils.co.uk/category/isle-of-wight/
