Someone is happy, they got their “licence to crime” from the supreme court today.
I find it truly mind-blowing, that any court would entertain the idea, that laws do not apply to a president, if what he is doing can be interpreted as part of the job.
But I suspect we will now see the lower courts rule that the acts they are prosecuting Trump for are not part of the job.
Holding onto classified documents AFTER the end of your presidency, is just one example which I suspect will not qualify.

@randahl It is terrifying, not just for the USA, which showed today it is no longer a democracy. Support for Ukraine could be denied on a whim; a president could shoot anyone in plain sight and cite ‘official business’ and have immunity. It puts POTUS on the level of North Korea or Russia in terms of control and power of one person, and grants them immunity from the consequence of their actions. Literally could make themselves President for Life, no problem.
