@lechner @na103 Usually people put the cleaned glass back on the tube, and use big foamy tape to hold it on the edges. IIRC it's some kind of window insulation tape?

The glass acts as an anti-implosion protection so I'd keep it.

that's what i did. i repositioned the radiation shield at the same distance from the crt tube. then i sealed it with electrical tape so no dust gets in.
