I went to my first NAACP meeting yesterday and met some really awesome people doing really awesome work in my town.
Some were new like me. Some had been there a couple of years. Some have seen shit that I've only seen depicted in a couple of black and white photos.
They fought through it then and they fight through it now. Nothing brightens your day more than leaning into the fight with your shoulder pressed next to the shoulder of someone who has seen much worse than you.
Go join the #mutualAid groups that already exist in your town. Meet folks. They will introduce you to more folks. Pick a thing, whatever it is, and do it as you can with what time you have.
(Also, I met so many new and wonderful people that I am proper fried right now and will hole up in a dark room and recover. I have food distribution this evening and that makes me happy and will help with recovery. Yay introversion and life on the spectrum! 😅)
