This line of questioning completely misses the point.

Conversion from fossil fuels (FF) to clean electricity presents profound chicken/egg challenges. It is impossible to deploy sufficient electrical generation to replace all FF in the absence of a comparable demand. Likewise, it is impossible to replace FF consumers (cars, etc.) until the supply is adequate. And, some things will always depend on FF - air travel, long-haul transport, etc.

Westerman was engaging in ratfucking.
