Strongly suspect anyone in the habit of saying “I have voted [x] all my life but not now” has not actually voted [x] all their lives, and possibly has never done so.

@davidallengreen Well, my mother genuinely has voted Tory all her life, and is absolutely fed up of them.

Astonishingly, because she has spent several decades believing that voting Labour is akin to burning down your own house in a sacrifice to the great gods of destruction, she now says that she's going to vote for her incumbent Labour MP.

@davidallengreen I vote differently at every election. Only once voted Tory, to ensure ukip failed. I'm a floating voter!

@Tattooed_Mummy @davidallengreen Another floating voter here! Although, fortunately, I've never been in a situation where I might seriously have to consider voting Tory.

But I've voted for Labour, LibDem, Green, Plaid Cymru, and various independents down the years. This year, as I now live in a historically safe Tory seat with a slim chance of a Labour win, I'm definitely voting Labour.
