Super-rich major league sports team owners continue to squeeze money out of the public by making one city or state bid against another to subsidize the team. Many years ago I condemned this and proposed a federal law to regulate such backwards …

@rms the problem, or a real problem, is that A is not competing with B in the most common case. In the most common case it is a competition between A, B, C, D, E, and F with cities G and H also putting in bids but not really being competitive with the others. I have no idea how to resolve that in a fair and proper way. But the current way that makes all taxpayers whether they want that venue in their community or not just seems wrong.
