Cantabrian sea water temperature is also warm this year, which makes it 2 years in a row for a sea that used to have quite cold waters. Now it feels like the Mediterranean.
What's your first hand #ClimateChange experience?
@Ailantd
It almost never snows anymore. we have more and worse cold snaps, it gets down to around -25 Celsius at least a few times each winter now. summers are generally hotter, and there are fewer nice days in spring and fall. nowadays those seasons are more prone to being too hot one day, too cold the next.
@Ailantd I live in Ottawa, Canada. The Rideau Canal is the world’s longest outdoor skating rink. The historical average is something like 50 days. Last year it was zero. It never stayed cold enough to remain safe.
@Ailantd We’ve had more thunderstorms in the last 4 weeks than we usually do all Summer. We also barely get any snow or very cold spells anymore in winter. (I think we had snow on the ground for only 2-3 days this past winter, continuing downwards trend of previous years.) Locally, 2023 was the wettest year on record (inc. basements in our village flooded) while 2022 was one of the driest years on record, with various lakes and salt pans drying up entirely. (N.
