@SJohnRoss However, D&D in my toot was more a lazy shorthand than a confirmation it would be all D&D. I know at least one roboticist really into Cyberpunk Red.
@mikertrice Very cool. Well, if you ever do the opposite, I'm a prime candidate for "Trailer Park Kids Who Never Graduated High School who play TTRPGs" if you ever do that one. 😁
@mikertrice What a beautiful Venn diagram we're drawing!
I wanted very much to pursue higher education, but my father sat me down sometime around 8th grade and laid it out: "I will never be able to help you got to college; there's just no way, so if you don't get a scholarship, you're not going."
And I was not the scholarship type. Personality-wise. So I started skipping school and going to libraries, to learn on my own. Got kicked out for missing days (and learning). 😅
@SJohnRoss That sounds like quite the story! I was the scholarship type, though I lost it after two years and became the retail scholarship type. Luckily state schools were more affordable in the the late 90s.
