Cannon grilled both Bove and Pearce on their respective arguments, focusing questions related to textual analysis of the statutes and DOJ regulations under which AG Garland appointed #JackSmith. #legal
Cannon at times appeared skeptical of Trump’s claim that Smith was unlawfully appted—but she also did not seem entirely convinced by special counsel’s arguments to contrary. At 1 pt, for ex, she suggested that spec counsel’s statutory analysis reflects an excessively “malleable” reading of Constitution’s text.
