@luckytran It greatly distresses me that federal, state and local governments are not routinely posting Covid statistics. How is the general public supposed to know that more than usual caution is required?
@luckytran The thing I'd think was more interesting would be area under the graph related to deaths or disabling outcomes.
I realize that the data we've got are outright bad, but the trend in the area under that graph versus outcomes is plausibly "is this getting worse?" more clearly than the area alone, since chronological displacement might not be significant.
(Mucosal defenses work better in warm air; the unseasonably warm temperatures might be preventing worse outcomes.)
@luckytran hmm, any idea why that is? Change in the virus? Or an environmental factor like the unusually warm winter that leads to behavior changes? Here in Minnesota it is in the 50s today, while in previous winters it would be below 0. Everybody is much more out and about, more social contacts. And maybe more moisture that then impacts droplet life span in the air? So many questions, fascinating.
