To start though, fill out your profile, then create an intro post and pin it in your profile. The intro post should have the "introduction" hashtag and all other hashtags for the interests they have.

@popey @czajkowski so this worked ;) I found people and then once I found them I browsed their followers to see others the only weird thing I found is at the end of some lists it says it can’t show more followers from other servers ! But finding my way better now thanks to the email explanation

Using https://followgraph.vercel.app to find some people to follow, follow them, then refresh it to get new results works well in my experience. Our new account suggestion algorithm and widget in feed should help as well.
Also, clicking on hashtags you are interested into and following people from here is an efficient technique. And you can even follow hashtags 👍
