@vampiress unrelated but also kinda related note, I REALLY wish mastodon would be smart enough to tell activitypub links and would strip links like that to properly display from my instance instead of opening up a new tab to the permanent link on another instance, which is broken and doesn't display properly due to javascript....
I have very few gripes with mastodon as a whole but "copy link to this post" taking you to another instance SUCKS.
@vampiress on the web client it just forms a direct link to that post on THEIR instance (the same link you get when you copy permanent link), which opens in a new tab and displays nothing without accepting stuff on their page first.
@vampiress I actually like the web client for everything but this, I've tried all the downloadable client's but they're all kinda awful, none of them let you keep multiple timelines/tags visible, they either shove them all into one or you have to click to view each one separately.
@vampiress that was so well phrased. I'm actually sad that most young people will not have the opportunity to be excited about computing.
In fact, the only time I saw one of my kids being fascinated by technology when they were little was when I was playing around with a C64 and they learned about printing text in different colours.
