June 15, 2018 – Following Trump's April 2018 “zero tolerance” policy, Homeland Security said that in April and May, at the Mexico–US border, there were 1,995 migrant children separated from 1,940 adults being held for illegal crossing. Trump blamed the Democrats, tweeting, “Democrats are forcing the breakup of families at the Border with their horrible and cruel legislative agenda.”
