I once got into a nice chat about plants with a woman who worked at my local planning commission

The next time I came in, I brought her a baby of a rare lavender from my garden, in a 4-inch pot. Just a little thing

She very regretfully said that she wasn't allowed to accept gifts

I could tell she really wanted that lavender, too 💔
