every time i watch a video of people playing rpgs i conclude i'd be happier if it was some kind of post-hoc highlight reel / summary instead
a lot of the negotiation, decision-making, and reference lookup takes forever, in ways that are very boring when you're not involved in the outcome yourself
even people who play quickly and communicate very clearly can't fully counteract that
