Whenever I see a lot of cis people talking about issues regarding sex and gender, I tend to assume that there will be some kind of negative fallout for trans people.
Cis people usually assume that whatever brilliant conclusions they've drawn, they apply universally, never recognizing or caring that trans, nonbinary, and intersex people tend to have very different experiences.
