@SallyStrange@brhfl It's standard for Mastodon to throw up the error 'I can't find this user' and trying to get at it from outside instances, you'll see "suspended". That is what happens after an account is suspended. That is how the process works, authorized fetch or not (I'm the sole moderator for another instance, I've been at it for a while). I don't understand why we're having this debate.
