@peterbrown @benroyce @petealexharris @bobjmsn There are other reasons: avoiding GHG emissions is absolutely vital. Renewables do that but aren't 100% reliable.

Scotland produced 113% of its electricity using renewables on one day only, I understand?

Scotland is a leader but "The Government's plans have called for 100% of electricity consumption to be generated through renewable sources and that by 2030 half of total energy consumptio will be met from renewables." - so not there yet.
