    @BeAware were they taken away from the origin server's toots, or just from toots shown on other instances?

    Because the latter's counts are functionally meaningless. They're almost ALWAYS incorrect.

    @devnull no, completely removed from the web inteface as a whole in 4.2.4 for some reason.🤷‍♂️ Thankfully it still works as originally in . But it was removed from the web interface as seen in the images.

    @BeAware now that I'm more awake, I'll try to answer coherently:

    My best guess is they were removed for the same reason they were removed from Instagram. They sent a strong signal that a post had high engagement/popularity, but unintentionally also sent the signal that the post was "correct".

    But in reality, who knows 🤷
